During the Day of Melitopol in addition to the celebratory events several buisness meetings between representatives of Melitopol government� and delegations from other countries were held. In particular, a sister-cities agreement was signed by the heads of the Executive Committee of the Melitopol City Council (Sergiy Valter) and� Pukhovichy Regional Executive Committee (Republic of Belarus) (Fedor Karalenya).

The text of the agreement refers to the mutual desire to further enhance cooperation in various fields:

"- Both parties will contribute to the establishment and development of cooperation and exchange of experiences in the field of economy, agriculture, tourism, education, health, culture, sports, housing and other sectors of social policy and other areas of mutual interest.

- Both sides will take the initiative to support joint initiatives and projects between small and medium-sized businesses, educational institutions, health care, social protection, culture and the arts, the media, youth organizations, as well as between all natural and legal persons".

Specific plans will be drawn up for three years and, if necessary, adjusted.
