The German engineering company CLAAS has opened an office in Melitopol. Consul General of Germany in Ukraine Klaus Zillikens, Director of CLAAS, Eastern Europe, and Thomas Klausnitstser Head of Eastern Europe AMAZONE Jens Meisner have come at the opening of trade and service center arrived. Melitopol Mayor Sergei Valter and Deputy Mayor Valery Govorkov were also presented at the opening. Zaporozhye regional office is part of the "Technician Mashines International Affiliates", LLC - main CLAAS partner in Ukraine - which operates in the market of our country for 15 years. The opening of trade and service center CLAAS in Melitopol is a strategically right decision of the company's heads, both in terms of choice of geographical location (within the agricultural south-east of Ukraine), and in terms of prospects of cooperation in the use of machine-building potential of the Melitopol region, its facilities and labor market, - said the Deputy mayor Valery Govorkov.
The advantages of the Melitopol region were recognized by all participants of the event. Implementation of this project, namely the opening of representative office of the world-renowned company, costed 1.3 million euros (14 million UAH), it is a direct investment in the urban economy. It is a realization of the priorities of city dministration in the economic development of the city, it is an emergence of new active business. Over 20 jobs were created in the structure of the center, 18 million euros (190 million UAH) is the projected annual turnover of the Melitopol representative office. Besides the official ceremony, a working dialogue between the representatives of the city qd,inistrqtion and German investors took place.
To understand the Melitopol potential, the delegation has visited one of the engineering companies TC Avtoprivod, LLC. The organization of production and high-tech was highly appreciated by the guests - representatives of leading engineering companies in Germany. For the record: the German engineering company CLAAS KGaA mbH is one of the leading producers of agricultural equipement. Founded in 1913 by Augustus Klaas, the company is engaged in the production of equipment for aligning sheaves and for pressing straw. In 1936 the company has introduced its first combine harvester.
The nearest industrial enterprise the concern is the CLAAS factory in Krasnodar, launched in 2005. Concern now produces a wide range of high-tech equipment for agriculture: combines, tractors, and other specialized machines. Today CLAAS Group has 14 factories in Europe, America and Asia, and employs over 9000 people, as well as an extensive professional dealer network and after-sales service technicians around the world. In Ukraine, except the official representative offices, there are 8 dealers of the company. According to the company's official information its sales volume in 2011 were more than 3.3 billion euros, it increased by 33.5% in comparison with 2010, last year the net income was 253 million euros.
The German engineering company AMAZONE was founded in 1883 by Heinrich Dreyer. In 2008 AMAZONEN-Werke had its125 anniversary! For the past century AMAZONE group sells agricultural equipement. It comprises six plants in Germany and one plant in Russia (Samara).
