Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Ukraine Troy Lulashnik held a meeting with the Melitopol Mayor Sergei Valter and the Deputy Mayor Valery Govorkov during his visit to Melitopol. The main theme of the working meeting was the cooperation in the field of small and medium businesses.
Today in Melitopol there is a number of the Canadian Government projects that are being implemented. Thanks to one of them an engineering cluster "AgroBOOM" was established in the city and the marketing strategy for the development of the industrial park was wlaborated. Mr Lulashnik and his advisor Adrian Volreyven have highly appreciated the results of cooperation and have mentioned that they are interested in further cooperation with Zaporzhzhya region and Melitopol in particular.
According to the Deputy Mayor Valery Govorkov, the Canadian government is considering the implementation of another project to increase the competitiveness of regional businesses. Participation in this project is very important to Melitopol, because our city is a leader in the field in terms of emmergence of small and medium businesses.
Also during the meeting the parties have discussed the Policy Reform and Implementation Support Mechanism (PRISM) the project of the Government of Canada, that is implemented in Zaporizhzhya region. This project will create the necessary business climate in the city through improved licensing and other procedures.
