At the moment, Melitopol administration has made contact with 25 embassies of the different countries, namely, Morocco, Canada, Slovenia, Poland, Spain, Turkey, Finland, France, Georgia, Armenia, Singapore (together with Brunei and Indonesia), Romania, Kuwait, Brazil, Austria, Germany, Lithuania, Hungary, Israel, Poland, Denmark, Greece, the Netherlands, Slovakia. In the opinion of Deputy Mayor Valeriy Govorkov the most promising are the possibilities of cooperation with the embassies of Norway, Finland and Sweden in Ukraine. Representatives of the embassies of these countries have learned with interest the offers of Melitopol authorities on the economic cooperation.
In addition to the standard presentation letter the information about the city and its potential, its industry and the opportunities to start business here was sent to the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine. Theo Vares, Economic Advisor at the Embassy of Sweden, said that the information will be distributed among the Swedish Chamber of Commerce members, associations and industry organizations, and will be directly provided to the Swedish companies (potential partners, who address the Embassy of Sweden).
Embassy spokesman said that one of the areas of their work is finding partners for Swedish companies, so the information about the opportunities in Melitopol is important. Representatives of the Embassy of Finland are also opened for the cooperation with Melitopol. In an official letter of Finpro (Finland Trade Center) the Embassy has provided all the necessary data for collaboration, as well as links to the websites where the city government can place the investment proposals.
