Sister city relationship was established between the Borisov District Executive Committee, Minsk region (Belarus) and the Executive Committee of the Melitopol City Council in Zaporizhzhya region (Ukraine).
The signing of the agreement took place within the framework of the visit Belarusian delegation to our city. It included the Chairman of the Borisov District Council Petr Navitskiy, Deputy Chairman of the Borisov District Executive Committee Sergei Lagno and Chief Physician Borisov Zonal Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology Sergei Konovalov. In particular, the parties agreed:
- To facilitate the exchange of business delegations, officials, community leaders, education, culture and sports in order to create favorable conditions for the development of both regions;
- To promote the regular exchange of information and experience on issues that are of mutual interest, especially in the sphere of trade and economy;
- To encourage the development of new directions and forms of cooperation for more effective use of technology, industry, natural resources, and the capabilities of each of the parties to the transfer of new technologies, scientific and technical expertise;
- To explore opportunities for cooperation in the field of tourism, education, health, culture, etc. - take advantage of opportunities to create joint trade and economic projects for mutual benefit.
After signing the agreement, representatives of the authorities of Melitopol and Borisov have exchanged gifts and invitations to attend the Days of the Cities.
