Representatives of the Sliven City Council (Bulgaria) have visited Melitopol in order to establish twinning.

During the meeting with Melitopol Mayor the Deputy Mayor Irina Donets expressed hope that the friendship between Melitopol and Sliven will be mutually beneficial and will contribute to the development of sport and tourism of both cities, and the Deputy Mayor Valeriy Govorkov gave the information on investment projects and programs that are being implemented in our city.

Mayor Sergiy Valter thanked the Bulgarian colleagues for their interest to our region, emphasizing that Melitopol Bulgarians are deeply integrated into the social life and work for the good of the city, as doctors, scientists, members of the city council.

During their stay, the delegation hasvisited Melitopol State Pedagogical University of Bogdan Hmelnitskiy that has signed an agreement on cooperation with Bulgarian collegues and Melitopol society of Bulgarian culture "Balkans".

The result of the visit is the signing of the agreement on cooperation in economic and humanitarian fields. The sides exchanged souvenirs and guests received an invitation to participate in the commemoration of the Day of the City from Sergiy Valter.
