The current draft of the executive committee of the Melitopol City Council "Operation Cluster of Small and Medium Engineering Business AgroBOOM "attracted the attention of the Office of the Council of Europe in Ukraine, and became a semi-finalist in the competition for sharing best practices of local government in Ukraine.

As part of the final phase of the contest the President of Eastern Europe Victor Lyah and dean of the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine Oleg Koval visited the city of Melitopol on the 18th of September 2012. Executive Director of the cluster Eduard Oreshkov introduced Council of Europe representatives with the activities of Melitopol clusterconsisting of more than 40 engineering companies. They discussed the future plans of the association of producers and the existing problems in the work, as well as visited some of the companies forming the cluster.
