On January 23, 2013 the Deputy Governor Petro Goncharuk and representatives of Spanish companies �HERA Group� had a meeting at the Zaporizhzhya Regional State Administration. Representatives of Melitopol were also present there because the project will be implemented on the Melitopol solid waste landfill.

Melitopol Deputy Mayor Valery Govorkov commented on the results of the meeting: "The essence of the project is collectiong and processing of biogas that has been accumulating at the landfield for decades. The so-called "green energy" will be produced hen processing the biogas. The project is supervised by the Zaporizhzhya Regional State Administration and the Environmental Investment Agency of Ukraine. The project costs about 20,000,000 USD and includes installation of equipment for collection and processing of biogas. Firstly the project will minimize the amount of biogas at the landfill. Secondly we will be able to obtain a very cheap and "clean" energy and direct it to the needs of public utilities of the city".

The participants agreed on the next meeting at in order to determine further course of action.
