After the regional council has identified priority environmental projects of territories, Melitopol presented three projects aimed at improving the status of water supply and sanitation for citizens.

The project of reconstruction of the central wastewater treatment facilities of utility company "Vodokanal" is socially significant for the city. In 2007-2008, was the reconstruction of the primary radial settling tank number 1 and the first section of the aeration tank. Today, similar work must be carried out at settling tank �2 and the second section of the aeration tank, which was exhausted its service life. Implementation of the project involves the use of modern technology of sewage treatment and prevention of pollution of the river Molochnaya in the work on an area of 371, 3 thousand sq. m. The project has already passed the state examination, its value in current prices is 7 586.1 thousand UAH.

Project of overhaul of Novophillipovskoe water conduit length of 2, 5 km provides uninterrupted supply of quality water for more than half the residents of Melitopol. Due to the significant deterioration of pipes occurs a large number of accidents leading to a breach of a stable water supply. The estimated cost of the project in current prices is 7,200 thousand UAH.

To ensure wastewater, preventing landslides collector which is in disrepair and falling into storm sewage system of the city, developed a project of overhaul of sewage collector on the Gorky Street length of 71, 5 km. The cost of works is 2031 36 thousand UAH.
