Melitopol, as the first of Ukrainian cities - participant of the programme of Council of Europe "Intercultural Cities", will be the author of the unique allowance of intercultural integration.

The basis of this initiative, in addition to the superiority of a city in the programme of EU, are sociological researches of Melitopol Pedagogical University, the cooperation of the authorities with national-cultural societies, ethnographers, historians, consultation with the Council of Europe, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.

At enlarged meeting of the working group in the conference hall of Executive Committee participants were welcomed by representatives of local government and representatives of Pedagogical University. It was read out an address of CE expert on intercultural policy Xenia, Rubicondo, which expressed the hope that efforts in development of Melitopol intercultural model and methodical planning of its intercultural activities will help to develop a practical guide for further exchange of experience single in all Ukraine.

In the working group are more than 100 people. They are representatives of authorities, researchers of MSPU, historians, civil society activists, representatives of national-cultural societies, religious confessions. Further work on the development of intercultural integration plan includes work on the thematic areas of the five groups (Civil and intercultural awareness, education and intercultural communication; Socio-economic, political ensuring of intercultural city development and revitalization of public activity ; Culture: intercultural urban planning and construction of urban space; a Welcome policy (immigrants, refugees, displaced persons) and cultural and spiritual practices; inter-regional and international perspectives, tourism and local history.

The outcome of the working draft of the document will be "Intercultural integration plan for 2015-2020 in Melitopol.", which will be considered then at a session of the Melitopol City Council.
