Borisov city (Belarus) celebrated the 913th anniversary of the founding. The friendship agreement between Melitopol and Borisov district signed in Jun 2012. Borisov City - one of the oldest cities in Belarus. In 2006, there was an association of Borisov and Borisov district into a single administrative structure.

Today, Borisov district - one of the largest industrial and cultural centers not only the Minsk region, but also throughout the country. In the district work enterprises of machine building and metal processing, chemical, woodworking, pharmaceutical and food industries, as well as enterprises for the production of crystal glassware, plastic products, matches. Many of them are truly unique, and its products are well known outside the country.

The main directions of agriculture are dairy cattle, pigs, poultry and cultivation of grain, potatoes, vegetables, flax and canola. The district is located on the reproduction of biological reserve Bialowieza bison.

In accordance with the Programme of Rural Development for the period 2005-2010 in the region based on existing villages created 17 agricultural towns.
