The seminar was attended by representatives of the participating cities, including Melitopolm, the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing, the Committee on State Construction, Regional Policy and Local Government, State Agency for e-governance, Folke Bernadotte Academy, the Association of Small cities in Ukraine, experts say.
The purpose of the event - the exchange of experiences and best practices between project participants in implementing the rule of law by providing services through e-government tools and presentation of successful cooperation between local authorities and central authorities in this area. Also aims seminar was to explain and discuss the benefits of e-governance, search for "weaknesses" and ways to address them.
One of the main project is to conduct self-assessment of adherence to the rule of law in the provision of administrative services, which is held in each participating cities.
A special delight of the participants called the visit to the city center of administrative services, work and achievements which showed the head of the administrative services of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council Bogdan Pytel.
The day of the seminar was devoted to the exchange of experience between the cities participating in the project. At the end of the seminar, participants discussed cooperation possibilities and ways to improve the practice of the rule of law through e-governance in local government.
The "Local government and rule of law in Ukraine" realized Folke Bernadotte Academy, the Association of Small Towns of Ukraine and the Razumkov Center and funded by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).
