From 23 to 27 January a unique contest is held in Melitopol
project pitching with the participation of 8 consultants and facilitators of the British Council in Ukraine. The first meeting and project presentation was held on Monday, January 23.
As a result of negotiations with the international organization British Council, an agreement was reached on allocation of 100 thousand UAH from the city budget and the same sum from the budget of the British Council in the competition of projects proposed by the residents of the city. This competition is called PITCHING (pitching is a public fair or public presentation of projects with the aim of finding investors).
In December 2016, there was announced a competition of projects among residents of Melitopol. The budget of the competition is UAH 200 thousand. Maximum project cost is limited to 30 thousand UAH. Priorities of the contest: projects in the field of development, education and culture. The main requirement to all projects is that they must be designed for all citizens.

The contest received 41 project from residents of Melitopol.
From 23 to 27 January 2017, our city will work with consultants from the British Council who will carry out an initial selection of the most interesting ideas (it is expected that the second round of the contest will be about 20 projects). The authors of the projects that have passed the first round will be invited to the training sessions, during which consultants will assist in the finalization of the proposed projects.
Together with British Council, the jury will select 6-8 of the projects that will receive funding for a total amount of 200 thousand UAH.
Melitopol is the third city in Ukraine, which will operate the British Council in the framework of this initiative. Such projects were held in Kherson and Chernigov.
British Council allocated to Melitopol the largest amount of funds. Kherson was given 2 times less only 50 thousand UAH and Chernigov got 75 thousand UAH. This is another sign of confidence of international donors and investors to Melitopol.
