The project of the Program of Melitopol products promotion to the foreign markets was presented 1 March in the conference hall of the Executive Committee. The draft document was developed with the support of international technical assistance project "Partnership for the local economic development democratic governance (PLEDGG)", which is implemented by the Federation of Canadian municipalities with financial support from the Government of Canada. The draft Program that was presented, contains 5 sections, in particular, a review of the prospects for the development of exports by SMEs, analysis of the state of export in the city, strategic areas of export development and specific projects to increase coordination and monitoring of the Program.

The First Vice Mayor Iryna Rudakova noted that Melitopol is proud to be one of a few Ukrainian cities, which were lucky to become members of the project PLEDGG. In particular, today the city is implementing the component "Support to the development and increase of efficiency of small and medium enterprises", in which there was carried out an express analysis of local business climate on the methodology of PLEDGG and structured export profile of the city on the basis of statistical information and survey results of existing and potential Melitopol exporters.

The draft of this document was presented by the representatives of PLEDDG: the chief expert of business development Valeriy Kokotov and consultant Vitalii Tikhonovich. During the responses to the questions, it was pointed out the ability of domestic businesses to participate in international competitive bidding and the need for the adoption of the Programme at the session of the City Council in the near future.
