PRESENTATION OF MELITOPOL MARKETING STRATEGY

3 March in the conference hall of the Executive Committee, experts of the project "Partnership for the local economic development democratic governance (PLEDGG)",  was presented a draft Marketing strategy of Melitopol. The enlarged meeting of the relevant working group was also attended by representatives of the Advisory Committee, created to implement the city's Project, the Coordination Council on development of local businesses, students, scientists, and the community.

The First Vice Mayor of Melitopol Iryna Rudakova opened the meeting and noted the importance of supporting the Project`s initiative to develop a strategy to promote the city.

Melitopol has been partnered with the Canadian project PLEDGG for more than a year. During this time there was carried out extensive work on the development of the marketing strategy of the city, namely: the meeting of the working group in which participated representatives ofMelitopol Executive Committee, entrepreneurs, members of charity organizations, the media, students and teachers of Melitopol universities; meeting of the working group in the format Open Space, in which experts gathered project proposals for the improvement of Melitopol; carried out a public opinion poll and online survey among residents of Melitopol with the aim of identifying the strjngest features of the city that differentiate Melitopol among other cutues of the country and abroad; the content analysis of local media; collected a large number of statistical data on the city and the like. All of these ideas were used in the preparation of the draft Marketing strategy.

Project consultants Larysa Olenkovska and Valentyna Zatyshniak told about the main principles of the project and offered participants to make a final proposal. Among the main directions of the positioning of the city there are: natural and understandable city; the city as a reliable partner and welcoming host. Also attention was paid to the organizational support to improve and enhance internal and external communications.

The draft document will be circulated among the participants of the meeting to gather suggestions during a week. Within a month the draft Marketing strategy will be prepared for consideration at the plenary session of the Deputies of the City Council.
