On 17 May, 2017 Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Bulgaria came to Melitopol.

Melitopol is the intercultural capital of Ukraine, where live more than 100 nationalities. More than 20 national-cultural societies are united in an association. Among them there is society of Bulgarian culture "Balkans", which has been working for 22 years. There are two more Bulgarian national-cultural associations. According to official statistics, more than 3,000 Bulgarians live in Melitopol.

Krasimir Minchev noted that five years have already passed since he is an ambassador and many times came to Zaporizhzhie region, but came to Melitopol for the first time.

The main purpose of the visit is the opening of the interactive learning class at the natural-geographical faculty of the Melitopol State Pedagogical University named after B. Khmelnitskyi.
