The event took place in the city centre. Celebration began with colorful costume procession. Adults and children decorated clothes with handmade floral elements. 45 participants of all ages competed for the title of the Cherry Queen. The winners were 8-year-old Daria Ivleva (Cherry Princess 2017) and student Tatiana Suvorova (Cherry Queen 2017).

In the area there was themed fair fruit products and honey products crafts. Each buyer was able to take part in the prize draw.

Anyone could receive a portion of ice cream with cherry jam, which was cooked on the square. Weather made its adjustments and the holiday has continued in the Palace of Culture named after Shevchenko. There took place the prize raffle and a concert of the famous 90's Ukrainian group.

For the first time, the festival hosted a football match between the team of Melitopol, which included, the players of FC �Aris� and FC �Melitopol Cherry�. The game was held at the site with artificial covering of a field in the city park of culture and recreation. Spectators and athletes got a lot of pleasant impressions and were treated with cherries after the match.
