The event took place in City Park
named after Gorky. The city of Melitopol is known as the cherry capital of Ukraine. Over the past 100 years, more than 120 sorts of cherries have been harvested by Melitopol breeders. Every June, it is held the unique event named Chereshnevo Festival, which is the most delicious and important event for residents and guests of the city in the southwestern region of Ukraine. |
This year, Melitopol had met more than 7000 participants. The festival have had a wide range of events: the All-Ukrainian tourist forum-festival Festival tourism as a resource of the territory development, tasting fairs, master classes, concerts, traditional costume procession, competition for the best cherry costume, cooking of more than 100 kilograms of branded cherry jam, delicacies and much more. The innovation of this years festival was the publication of a collection of authentical recipes of Melitopol masters of cherry jam and dishes with sweet cherries.
